SAMPLE LETTER FOR THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Hello guys - this is the letter I mentioned. Feel free to personalize it as much as needed if you want to send it in.
Here http://www.house.gov/ is a link to the House website for Representatives, here
http://www.senate.gov/ is a link for the Senate, and their committees
Please consider sending it to your representative and Senator, but also those on committees you think may be relevant. Also consider personalizing this letter for members of your state government - it's more likely something will be done at the state level.
The Honorable (Insert Name)
(Insert Office Address)
United States House of Representatives/United States Senate
(Insert City, State, Zip)
Dear Senator/Representative _________
I am writing to you as (choose one) my local Congressperson/Senator/Member of the ____ Committee.
There is a disturbing trend among some parents to attempt to cure a myriad of conditions, most notably autism, through the use of “miracle mineral solution” (CD-MMS) in baths, drinks, and even enemas. This is horrifying because CD-MMS is an industrial-strength bleach scientifically known as chlorine dioxide.Chlorine dioxide is used in industry to bleach textiles and wood pulp. It is also used as a purifying agent by municipal water districts. Unfortunately, the concentrations of bleach used by most users are much, much higher than what is safe for human use or consumption. One of the most common protocols used by these parents is that suggested by Kerri Rivera in her book, Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism. If users follow Rivera’s directions, the concentration of the chlorine dioxide they administer to themselves or their children is about 3000 ppm.
This is horrifying because the EPA’s maximum concentration for chlorine dioxide to be consumed safely as a water purifier is only .8 ppm. Anyone exposed to this protocol is exposed to roughly 3,750 times the EPA safety limit! The FDA is aware of the sale of this dangerous substance, and has issued letters to consumers bearing ominous warnings about dehydration, nausea, diarrhea, and worse. European health agencies have issued similar warnings.
Aside from the warnings provided by officials, further evidence of harm caused by this substance is easily found. It is difficult to know how many children are affected by the heinous use of this product, but CD Autism, a Facebook group devoted to discussions about how to use the protocol to “cure” autism, has over six thousand members. This is a closed group, but screengrabs of posts made there are readily found on blogs such as “No More Bleach” (which also provides more details on the protocol suggested by Kerri Rivera, a comparison with citations of the safe concentrations and those used in her protocol, and the symptoms of CD-MMS use) and Facebook groups such as “Stop Kerri Rivera’s Abuse of Autistic Children.”
These screengrabs reveal the horrific suffering of children on this protocol – parents report children screaming in pain for days on end, becoming withdrawn, silent, and lethargic, suffering from severe constipation or horrific diarrhea, and also becoming angry and violent. Worse still, some of them detail hiding their children’s deteriorating condition from medical professionals. Perhaps most alarmingly, many post pictures of “rope worms” found in their children’s stool, often covered in blood. “Rope worms” are alleged parasites which medical professionals have identified as pieces of digested food, mucus, or most disturbing, pieces of the intestinal lining, most likely a sign of irritation by repeated enemas with a caustic substance. Further, if the parents follow the rest of Rivera’s protocol, the children are in further danger from other dangerous treatments suggested, such as time spent in a hyperbaric chamber, and vitamin deficiencies from a diet free of antioxidants.
There is some hope, however. There is increasing public awareness of the issue, including among mandatory reporters and child welfare workers. Individuals who knowingly traffic CD-MMS for human consumption, such as Daniel Smith, are being prosecuted for various crimes related to the “interstate sale of misbranded drugs” and smuggling. I am writing to you because, as a lawmaker, you can help to enact laws that will give prosecutors the tools they need in order to effectively prosecute the peddlers of this horrific substance, as well as parents who administer it to their children. A law which classified administering MMS to a child as a felony or a severe misdemeanor, or one that reclassifies chlorine dioxide to a more tightly controlled substance might help curb this horrific behavior. You are also in a position to publicly condemn it as a cruel, ineffective “treatment” for autism, which would raise further awareness of the issue. I hope you will keep this issue in mind as the year goes on.Thank you for your service in office and for taking the time to read this letter.
