There is a great new article just published, titled, "Distributors of Anti-Vax Film Are Trying to Keep an Autistic Rights Advocate From Criticizing It" published in Jezebel by Anne Merlan, July 28, 2016. See article
It has it all:
(1) Dangerous autism treatments, such as MMS, and the scammers that promote them.
(2) The fight of Freedom of Speech between Fiona O'leary - autism self-advocate - and the "Vaxxed" film distributors - Fiona O'leary feels she has the right to say how she feels about the film; as it promotes anti-vax sentiment, and the distributors argue they have the right to freedom of speech too, and she is actually trying to ruin their business, by actively trying to stop the distribution of the film.
(3) A campign link questioning Fiona O'leary's right to represent the Autistic Community in Ireland , and her ad hominem approach " “All of her so called ‘advocacy’ revolves around hate campaigns, online and offline bullying and relentless self publicity. "
I am delighted that this article bring attention to dangerous autism treatments, and the scammers that promote them. Personally, I would like to see the film "vaxxed" stopped as I am a fervent believer In vaccinations to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases. In addition, I think the wider issues of who should represent the autism community, and the manner in which we are represented, are salient to achieving Autistic rights, and the understanding that autistics are -"different not less" - Neurodiversity.
